X wants more people to use its Grok Bot for account performance insights and platform trend notes, so it’s is giving away free X API credits in order to facilitate access to X information.

Grok Bot

X’s Grok Bot is designed to be an artificial intelligence-powered teammate that can undertake tasks on the users’ behalf.

That includes providing account performance notes, as well as broader trend data from across X, which the company is now trying to showcase with this new offer.

As explained by X: “Connect your X account in Grok Bot and we’ll create a developer account for you if you don't have one. Paid Grok Bot users get free X API credits to start.”

Once connected, the bot will be able to search X posts, read users’ timelines, check mentions or create reports based on trends and happenings in the app.

“This is the first version of this integration, and we’re excited to keep making it easier for Grok Bot to do real work on X,” the company said.

Essentially, X is trying to provide more performance insights in order to help creators and brands make the most of their X presence. In addition, the app is also showcasing the capacity of its evolving AI tools, and how those tools can be of assistance.

From there, X is likely hoping that users will want to create their own Grok bots and agents that can undertake all sorts of tasks on their behalf.

It could be a good showcase of the potential of X’s advanced insight tools, though it will also depend on users asking the right questions and making best use of the available insights.

For marketers, that will likely relate to industry-specific trends, with the Grok Bot potentially able to highlight best practice notes, influencers to work with and benchmarking data.

It could be an interesting experiment, and it will also be interesting to see how X looks to advance its analytics tools via the use of its evolving AI options.
