TikTok has announced an expansion of its Out of Phone promotion option, which enables brands to use TikTok content on billboards, in-store displays, cinema promos and more, expanding campaigns beyond the app.
Launched in 2023, TikTok’s Out of Phone promotions provide opportunities to use TikTok content in more ways, driving higher exposure and potential reach.
Now, the app is adding even more external placements via new partnerships with Alight Media, DooH it, Powerpill, Zoom Media, Next-Gen Media and C-Screens.
As explained by TikTok: “Building on the success of its retail and billboard integrations, TikTok is introducing six partners which will significantly expand TikTok's real-world presence across the UK, France, Belgium, Spain, and Italy. These partners will amplify organic TikTok creator content across their screens, bringing the authenticity, creativity and joy of TikTok into wellness centres, shopping malls, outdoor TV screens, bars, supermarkets and universities.”
The expanded placement options mean more exposure potential for brands that sign up, while marketers can now also include user-generated contentwithin these promotions.
Using the ubiquity and popularity of the TikTok presentation format in all new ways could be a good option, leading to more resonant and engaging campaigns.
It’s a higher-end ad option, depending, of course, on the specifics of each campaign and placement, though TikTok does also offer a more generic external display option, via its deal with Atmosphere, which enables businesses to display curated TikTok content streams on TVs in restaurants, bars, gyms, and more.
But for those looking to extend their TikTok promotions to more targeted, big exposure placements, this latest expansion could be a valuable consideration.
For months, we’ve been tracking Elon Musk’s $44 billion deal with Twitter. Now that the deal is done, we watch as the Musk-Twitter era begins.
