TikTok adds certification tiers for agency partners

TikTok announced an update to its partner program that will see its partners split into two different categories in order to highlight platform expertise.

TikTok’s updated agency partner structure will see each partner given either an Agency Partner badge or a Premier Agency Partner badge. Each designation is designed to best represent that organization’s depth of experience and demonstrated understanding of TikTok ads.

As explained by TikTok: “The Agency Partner badge represents an established mark of platform excellence, awarded to qualified agencies that demonstrate exceptional performance, operational capability, and certified team expertise.”

The Premier Agency Partner badge, meanwhile, is designed as “an exclusive honor” that will only be awarded to a select group of top-performing partners worldwide.

“As the highest level of recognition within the agency program, Premier status celebrates partners that consistently demonstrate excellence on TikTok through proven business results, deep platform expertise, and an unwavering commitment to TikTok-first marketing,” TikTok said.

The updated badge system should help to provide more insight into TikTok marketing advisors, and could help marketers choose which agency to go with for assistance.

Though both certifications, TikTok said, offer a level of assurance that an agency has met its partnership requirements.

“Whether collaborating with a badged Agency Partner to launch and scale performance campaigns or aligning with a Premier Agency Partner for a large-scale specialized activation, brands can operate with total confidence, knowing they are working with vetted, high-performing platform specialists,” TikTok said.

Launched in 2020, TikTok’s Agency Partner program now provides access to more than 600 approved partners across various elements, including creative, marketing technology and measurement.
