Meta’s dedicated video editing app is getting a paid tier, with a new Edits Plus subscription offering currently in development.

As outlined in this slide, which was included in a broader announcement of Meta’s new business subscription packages, Edits is getting its own paid tier. This will be available as part of the Meta One Business packages or as a separate subscription.
Edits has become a valuable video editing component, with the company adding more features every other week in order to build an effective competitor to ByteDance’s CapCut tool.

However, Meta has been warning since the app's launch that it will eventually charge for add-on elements, particularly its artificial intelligence-powered features.
Instagram Chief Adam Mosseri recently outlined the need to charge for access to its advanced AI options during a July Q&A on Instagram Stories: “Basically, these AI models are very expensive to run, and so we try to just offer them for free, but we have a cap on how many times you can use them per day. Eventually, you’re going to be able to subscribe to be able to get access to more, we’re working on that right now.”
As noted in the above description, the paid Edits package will include more storage for video programs and expanded access to Meta’s AI tools. This should ensure that heavy users can continue to build their video projects in the tool.
Meta hasn’t yet shared any specifics on the pricing, nor on the thresholds for usage.
